Lassiter Sophomore Wins Statewide Video Award for Capturing School Spirit
Lassiter High School sophomore Audrey Moss has turned her passion for videography into statewide recognition, winning the Georgia High School Association’s 2024 Student Section Spirit Challenge for the 5A–6A division. Her winning entry, a 2½-minute “Trojan Nation” highlight reel packed with energy and excitement, was showcased on the big screen at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during the GHSA State Football Championship.
Audrey’s journey behind the camera began after she was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a heart condition that made participating in cheerleading too difficult. Determined to stay connected to the teams she loved, she began producing dynamic highlight videos using tools like LumaFusion and a stabilizer to overcome hand tremors.
From varsity football and basketball to softball, lacrosse, and even powder-puff games, Audrey’s videos have become a staple for Lassiter fans—some reaching more than 10,000 views on Instagram. Encouraged by coaches and teachers, she entered the GHSA contest and brought home the win, shining a light on Lassiter’s unmatched school spirit.
Outside of school, Audrey enjoys pottery and life on her family’s hobby farm in Marietta. She hopes to continue her creative journey in college, studying sports videography and journalism to keep telling the stories that inspire teams and fans alike.
